Nursing the Bedouins - Jordan

June 1996 In the arid river valleys of Jordan's wadis, an American doctor and an Australian nurse tend to the Bedouin Arabs. Known as 'everything for the Arabs' these two elderly women cure TB, diagnose cancer and administer anti-biotics to the nomadic tribes. With fits of laughter, respect and warm affection, they cajole their patients to attend operations and give up smoking. Out amongst the rugged mounds of rock and the sandy gullies, these two medics are often welcomed into camel hair tents and treated to three days of desert hospitality. A whimsical account of two westerners who set up a clinic in the wilds of Jordan. Produced by ABC Australia Distributed by Journeyman Pictures
