Egypt's army steps up campaign against protesters

At least nine people have been killed in Egypt and more than 350 injured in the past two days of clashes between protesters and security forces in Cairo. Soldiers have cleared Tahrir Square of protesters. And footage showed troops beating demonstrators and burning their tents. Al Jazeera has filmed exclusive video of what appears to be a member of the military shooting into a crowd of fleeing protesters. Al Jazeera's Rawya Rageh reports from Cairo.

This two-part special follows a team of doctors conducting a series of groundbreaking experiments as they climb Everest, the world's highest peak. From their laboratory tents, pitched in -25°C conditions, the experts use their own bodies for medical tests. They push themselves to the limit to better understand the human body's behaviour in a low-oxygen environment. The team hopes their work will lead to new, life-saving treatments for intensive care patients suffering from hypoxia, a shortage of oxygen in the body.

Egyptian tanks clearing Tahrir protesters

The Egyptian army has deployed troops in Cairo's Tahrir Square and fired several shots in the air to disperse remaining pro-democracy protesters. A few hundred demonstrators were staying put, state television reported, showing army vehicles in the square and people taking down tents and canopies. Witnesses said one man fell due to gunfire near the square, and protesters reportedly were fleeing to the Omar Makram mosque nearby. Al Jazeera's Sherine Tadros, reports from Tahrir.

Link From: "www.newzzcafe.com While the number of homeless people in America is peaking, some have been forced to live in the woods for years because they have nowhere else to go. And their numbers are only growing. Some are familiar with America the prosperous. Many are familiar with America the traditional. But with millions of Americans homeless, there are also those who only know America the broke. In the US state of New Jersey, picture-perfect homes can be found just 20 minutes away from tents put up in the woods, because the homeless do not have anywhere else to live. Former saxophone player Charlie Ericson told RT that he ended up there through his own mistakes in life. He is among at least 40 people who live in Tent City -- a homeless camp tucked away in the woods of New Jersey. Tragic destinies have led those forced to move here to call the village home. RT previously visited the camp in the winter and things have changed since then. More tents have appeared, some have come and others have gone.

Peaceful Protesters Arrested at Occupy Chicago 10/15

10/15 - Occupy Chicago met at 500 S Michigan, the spot previously used for general assemblies, for Global Occupation day. After the 7pm assembly, protesters began setting up tents. The CPD warned protesters that they would be arrested if they chose to remain, and around 12:30 am they moved in. The tents were all removed and hundreds were arrested and transported by CTA buses and police wagons to jail. Remaining protesters marched shortly afterward to 18th st & State st, location of the jail, to express their solidarity with arrested brothers and sisters. Sorry about the lack of audio. In Illinois, there is an eavesdropping law that prohibits audio-recording a police officer without the officer's permission. If this youtube channel was not under Occupychi's name, I might have done things differently, but I believe it is best to be cautious
